Hey Everybody!
I just wanted to introduce my newly launched blog "BreakingIn" to you. I started to write the blog since I am at a time of my life where I am in transition from my academic career to a professional one in the "easy" area of screenwriting and directing. Since there is not a simple answer on how to break into the business, I thought I'll document my approach and my thoughts as a knowledge ressource for others, who are in a similar situation.
I also wanted to use the opportunity to point you to an interview I recently did with writer-director Marco Kreuzpaintner in Berlin. Despite the fact that he never attended film school, Marco has already directed three feature films, some of them on a multi-million dollar budget level, before the age of 33. I had a talk with him where he told me his story and his perspectives on the topic of BreakingIn: http://www.gregorschmidinger.com/2010/06 /19/interview-marco-kreuzpaintner/
Please feel free to share your own opinions and experiences as comments on the blog.
All the best,
Gregor
