!!! Break in Advanced Pulldown cadence (pattern) found near t.

After capturing a complete 24PA tape and upon selecting "remove Advance Pulldown" in tools, I encountered this message:

!!! Break in Advanced Pulldown cadence (pattern) found near t.

What's "t"?

When I captured the tape it had no breaks and it was a continuous DV tape shot on DVX100 24PA mode. I captured it with Advanced Pulldown Removal, but it still came in at 29.97. So when I tried to remove it from the captured tape it gave this message.

I probably started "capture now" too close to the beginning or too near the end or both.
Do I need to re-capture or can I find the right cadence with this long clip?

It can get very tricky. Though, are you saying this tape was ONE continuous shot?? If not, you have to be VERY careful about shooting in 24pA mode. Don't ever rewind the tape to review material or slam off the camera while recording or change modes once the tape is in and set.

I'd go thru and log and capture. Make sure to set in/outs well after an obvious break in recording.

Then it should capture fine.

Here's my work around:

12/09/08 My workaround came by installing the G Cadence Detect from Nattress.com into the FCP plugins > then going to the in and out point of each clip and finding the AA and DD frames and setting my in and out points there. Not sure if I'm doing it right, but it worked. Maybe all that's necessary is to set new in and out points not too close to the beginning and ends. But after setting those I select each subclip and did the media manage according to Ken Stone index "Media Management in Final Cut Pro 4" 9/15/03. Then when I looked at each clip after managing, everything was now 23.98.

But I still don't know what"t" is. (in the FCP error message)
