Brand new Raw D Bolex footage

I know there is an existing D Bolex thread, but I felt a new one was in order to discuss footage, and to let people know...this thing is finally off the ground.

I hope someone makes a good motion sequence to look at, I'm just playing with the individual files in photo shop. Not very good at knowing what to set everything at, but there is certainly lots of room to play around. Looks pretty darn good so far, I notice a green tint...but it can easily be changed.

So after a few minutes of messing with the files, here are some sample grades:
First the uncorrected look-

Then grade 1:

And grade 2:
Glove_option_2.jpg

It's quite flexible. Very clean, no aliasing as far as I can tell. There is some fixed pattern noise if you really lift the shadows. I'm impressed so far. Working in Davinci Resolve 9.

*Note- the JPGs posted here look pretty weak compared with what I'm seeing in resolve. Ignore blocking artifacts and whatnot.

Have to wait until I get home to download the clip. But from playing with the first frames, I'm amazed by how deep you can reach into shadows without much noise. You get just a touch of fixed pattern noise when you scrape bottom, but even that will disappear on transcoding to any form of compressed video.

In the raw files, there is no clipping in the highlights. Strictly a function of the grade. Specular highlights will always show full value "white" anyway. There is no detail to resolve.

Frame from the new footage processed using HDR tone mapping in Raw Therapee.
