Bought open box DVX- how should i check it?

I bought an open box dvx for 75 less than unopened. I figured that the guy was upfront with me, so i bought it.

What tests should I do with it tomorrow?

Everything in the box was wrapped up like it was new.

go into the menu and check the head hours meter... should be very low. That is a good indication on the pre-use.

in the camera menu select #7 then scroll down till you see hour meter.. should be a number.

That was extremely funny, just don't take it badly nj_ . One thing you will discover is that we all have friendly intentions here. No matter how cruel the humor gets :)

I was scheduled to deliver a brand new laptop to an engineer at my day job. I walked up, announced proudly that his new laptop was here. I reached out and it fumbled out of my fingers, smacked the corner of the desk, did a triple gainer and smashed to the floor. Three engineers jumped from their chairs, their mouths hanging open. I said "Relaxe guys, this is an old dead chassis." It really broke up the afternoon:)

i've done enough research to know that rocking it back in fortha and hearing noises is normal, just the lenses making contact.
