Hi all,
I just bought a new DVX, however, I kind of turn the zoom without setting it to manual. Oops I hope it will be fine, I move it back and forth for a few times.
Anyways I am glad to be a new member and owner of the DVX.

Hey Joe, I just got my in the mail last week. It's nice! I wouldn't do that too often!! ;-)

I have been randomly shooting things. It's tough though, the sun sets so early now. Ah well, hope you are enjoying it.

As long as the camera doesn't make a clicking noise when the power is off, you should be fine.

Yes, also make sure you ignore those 24p modes and stay in 60i because you certainly do not want your footage to blow away the stuff from those guys shooting with handy cams. :)

thanks guys, I just bought a new LowePro camera back for it. It is exciting and I have some new projects coming up. I have upgraded my camera from a JVC handycam to a DVC32 and now the ultimate DVX102.. hehe.. it is quite cheap paid about $2600 plus extra batteries... I live in the East Singapore. PAL system and the filming community is quite small here.

Hey Joe, film community may be small in Singapore, but I have seen some quality films from Singapore the last 4-5 years. So there are some talented people around.

You're kidding ! If its small, why did you join it ;) . Hope you're not a weekend warrior and eating into the market and making it tought for us who do it for a living. Just kidding. Welcome aboard. My, that's really cheap.

You must be kidding too, ncje! lol. We are way WAY behind.

Well the price is $2600 US => $3900 Singapore Dollars and yes I am a weekend warrior.. as a hobby only lah, have not had a chance to charge yet. Anyways is there a group of videographers around that meet in Singapore? Just curious..

I did the same thing too! It pays to read the manual, which I didn't do. Thanks to Rush at EVS for the awesome deal.

We are a Singapore startup company. Looking for an amateur filmmaker to help us produce a product launch video on a shoe-string budget.

The product we have is pretty revolutionary - it is a Nail Jett Printer. Yes - it prints nail art direct onto ladies' finger nail.

Contact me at john8wong@yahoo.com.au.

If you are keen.

Me, too - that little switch tucked away, doh! Still, at least we read the manual in the end. Could Panny not indicate more obviously when servo is engaged? Input for the 100C perhaps?

Yeah, I did the same thing too. There ought to be a little tag on that enticing zoom knob. "Do not touch until you read the manual!!" What are we SUPPOSED to do when we lovingly draw it out of the box . . . get that first whiff of brand-new, glorious electronic 24p goodness . . . see the sleek lines, feel the rough texture, . . . Cool! a zoom knob! *servo grinding noise*

I'm, only HUMAN!

Well of the two movies I have seen from Singapore in the last 12 months. One was a very well written, well acted, cheesy where it was meant to be movie, but very entertaining. The other was a more dramatic piece. Wasnt shot very well I didnt feel but the dialogue and storyline made me forget that after a few minutes.
