I am wondering if anyone hear knows where I can get a bottle that is actually rubber for a stunt. Thanks if you can answer my question. I would greatly apreciate it.

Sincerely,

Ryan

u dont want breakable glass bottle? cuz if u hit some1 with bottle and it dont break that would look weird. but if u do want rubber bottle, i dont think your gonna find 1 anywere, becuz any1 that needs a stunt bottle, wants it to break. so u will have to make it urself. go to brickintheyard.com, and watch their tutorials on making rubber objects. and buy the materials from them. its pretty easy to do. watch the tutorial were they show how to make a rubber arm. then apply that same technique to ur bottle.

wow, ive bought props from westernstageprops b4, and they came to mind wen i saw this post but i didnt figure they would have a rubber bottle.

i just dont understand y any1 would need a rubber bottle, becuz a bottle should break, not be solid. so wat r u doin with it googoo dolls? im curious.

bottles are pretty robust for the most part, it would take generous force to shatter one against somebodys body, but any light hits that wouldnt necessarily break the bottle would be better done with something more forgiving than a real bottle. i can see the need for something soft if say your taking a thrown bottle to the stomach or something, because the bottle wouldnt typically break.

ya thats true.

though i think id prefer just to take an empty real bottle to the stomach opposed to a rubber 1. the rubber 1 will weigh more.

He may just need a shot of a bottle flying across the scene ors something. so that it doesnt need to break.

it is for a stage play and the actor kills another actor in the stomack in a street fight with them. I figured this was the safe way so than I don't have to worry about a break away bottle getting destroyed before the fight and have to fix it with each performance. Furthermore, you don't have to set up each break away bottle. Because the cost is very expensive for just one break away bottle. Can anyone guide me to a place that sells them for a price that is reasonable are budget is pretty tight.

Ah - that makes things a little clearer. I, for one, appreciate that you are thinking of the safety of the actor.

Googoodolls, can you describe the action with a bit more detail?

The actor who is wielding the bottle - is he supposed to "break" it against something in order to make a "jagged edge"? If so, using the advice from merc you can make a "two-part" bottle that appears unbroken until it's bashed, and then the jagged part is left to do the actual stunt with the "victim".

The start-up cost to making molds and casting props may be a little daunting but once you have the basics in place it gets more cost effective pretty quickly.

Let us know a little more and perhaps there is more advice available. Good luck!

only place i know of is westernstageprops, or if u wanna make the bottle urself, brickintheyard
