Boris FX in Vegas?

Hmmmm, ive tried it with vegas and boris is not so impressive. It mostly has some customised 3d text generators etc. Its awfully laid out in interface. Most of what it can do can be done within Vegas itself. In fact Vegas has such good compositing tools (better than any other NLE) that it can be called compositing program by itself (Almost like After Effects). And when after effects is still a line above BORIS i wouldnt see why you would want to get into a program that could possibly win an emmy for the most ill laid out interface. Its also very heavy on the system resources. And it doesnt do that much to work with Vegas as they claim. You just get a button inside which could launch Boris. Anyway it opens in a seperate window. With a nicely confusing layout of tools. Download the demo and try it and see for yourself. Your opinion might differ who knows.

Can Boris FX be used within Vegas 7?

If so can someone tell me more about Boris FX?

I was looking at this tutorial :
http://www.borisfx.com/training/tutorials/bcc/motion_key.php
And wondered how the car was removed and left the background intact? from what i can see there is only one peice of film and no "clean plate" - so how is this done?
You can probably do it with a difference mask in Vegas, if you have a shot without the car.

There's a limited version of FX which downloads with Vegas. I was utterly, completely, and unequivocally underwhelmed by it.

lol... oh, ok, I can see that. Well that's you David, but surely not me.

Do you like it though? Is there enough stuff that it can do that Vegas cant?

Seems like you want to believe it will do well. Im not as much an expert as David and i would say its a stupid program. Very unintuitive interface. And that means frustrating to work with. Very sluggish in working. Needs very high system resources to do a simple damn job. Instead learn after effects. It would be more worth it and the orginal software itself doesnt cost much.

lol, nice post... to the point... yea I saw it the other day and it looked a bit weird, kinda like Edius but cheaper... thank you guys
