Borders help

I have a clip that I needed to crop down to exclude something in the shot. This clip as a whole will be scaled down to a small box on the screen overlaying a full screen clip. Now I would like to place a border around the scaled down clip. Easy. I go into my video filters and select border and there I have it. Now the problem I am running into is that since the clip has been cropped down, the side that is cropped does NOT show the border. The rest of the clip can be seen with a border. So is there a way I can have a full border around the entire clip when its scaled down? When I adjusted the crop and put it back to zero then I saw my border appear on that side of the clip.

Hey DVX100shooter, i dont believe there is control over the parameters of the border filter. How about creating a border on the one cropped side with an overlayed matte? Apply the border and create your own on one side. You would have to size it and may not look clean. As long as your not keyframing it might do the trick.
