Boostaroo blows

So I just came back from a music video shoot. I knew the headphone amp on the dvx 100 was weak, so I bought a "boostaroo", as recommended on this site. Let me just tell you: BOOSTAROO BLOWS. Sure it boosted the audio level in my headphones, but it was totally distorted. I couldnt tell if my audio was clean, which is the whole point of monitoring it. Does anyone have any suggestions, sans boostaroo?

Get a pair of Sony 7506 headphones and sell the Boostaroo on ebay. With the Sony 'phones the problem of adequate level is solved.

It'll be the BEST $99 you ever spent. Trust me.

Definitely get headphones that match the impedance of the DVX. Consumer headphones just don't work. You need pro headphones at the right impedance. And, as Matt said, the 7506's are great and match up very well with the DVX.
