Booming on a budget

Hey guys, We were using a very expensive Gitzo boom pole, but we are losing access to it. I want to buy one, but I cannot afford the same one we had, but I want one thats similar, but pretty lightweight that reaches to at least 8-10 feet or so. I really liked the foam grips on the gitzo as well..

K-Tek has some aluminum poles in that price range, though maybe not quite that long. A search for Boompole over at B&H comes up with a bunch of sub $200 options.

That should be okay. But I personally prefer internal cabled poles. I used the K-Tek 110. I found it on one of the many online retailers.

Here is a full featured K-Tek in aluminum at a good price. Internal cable, long enough, side exit.

If you want cheaper, go external cable and save about $50. Many prefer external.

I like the ambient boom poles... Panamic are also good.
