Boomed Mic Height

Everyone on Dvxuser states the mic should be just above the actors head, out of frame, but what if one actor is sitting and the other is standing? How do you get the mic close to the head of the actor that is sitting down?

Are the two actors right next to each other or is one more in the foreground of the shot and the other deeper in the frame?

Its documentary style shooting, mainly 2 actors next to each other, close to each other. Basically one person is 4 feet taller than the other because they are standing, all one shot with no cutting.

Four feet? Is one a pro basketball player and the other a dwarf child?

Generally you split the difference in distance and volume. If it really is 4 feet then you might need to go with a lav or plant mic.
