boom poles

Hey all.

looking for a well priced, reasonably light boom pole, that goes to at least 8 feet in length. I dont have much knowledge in this area, but i am gunna be using the oktava 012 and the AT4073a

and i need a better boom pole than my boom mic stand for my music, which is hella heavy. Shockmount is not required as its going to come with the purchase of the 4073 from BHphotovideo.com

so yeah, anyone who knows about these boom poles, please enlighten me :)

I suggest you try the K-Tek KE110CC from B&H Photo for $229.95

This is a coiled/cabled boom pole. You can get cheaper if you go without internal cabling.

I use VDB as well, but I am not fond of the locking mech and if I buy another I would buy a K-Tek. I have friends who use them, they get rave reviews from the ever controversial audio board here at DVXuser and they are reasonably priced for the quality. I don't know about where you are but I have bought boompoles that I take with me when I am travelling to places where get can get ripped off. Or at least where I have been ripped off in the past. They are made from aluminum, with velvet on the handle portion and cost me way less than $100. 00 I think about $60 to $80 Cdn. I buy them through a local music store where they are listed in their micophone stand catalog as "FishPole" stands. You might try this rather than the broom or paint pole.

im in montreal dude.

i think im gunna go with that little kteck guy, 240, not bad. hopefully its not too heavy.

Sorry 'bout that, If you need a pole while you are waiting for yours let me know and you can borrow one of mine I am in Montreal for the next couple of weeks. Just IM me.

At one of my local retailers theres always a bucket with second hand poles of varying quality. I got two from there.
