boom pole

Hi c.g._eads,

I have been down this road myself. I bought a painters pole and had the end of a mic stand (with the threads) connected to the end for an adapter and mic. The problem was the pole was not insulated and any sound(s) from the cable, hand movement ect. transmitted to tape.

I have since realized the need to invest in a "pro" quality boom pole. Therefore I have done a little investigating. There are a few you can look into on eBay:

If you want to step up a bit, check out B&H. They have a pretty good selection of K-Tek graphite fiber poles. They are pricey but you get what you pay for (or in my case what I didn't originally pay for).

Good luck on your quest.
