Boom Pole for Oktava

Hey Guys,
I am in search of a cheap boom for my oktava mk012.

I vaguely remember seeing somewhere on this site about 4 or 5 months ago somebody talking about a dirt cheap boom pole for about $60. Did I imagine this? I'm on a very tight budget with an inexperienced boom op. so I don't need an expensive boom, but I am looking to avoid DIY.

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Matt

I would look at the gitzo carbon fiber poles. They help deaden the sound transferred down the pole by an inexperienced boom op and don't cost that much more than a metal pole.

this one is just over 7' not really long enough IMHO, but it may work for you

er is the next size up...

Here is what everyone is getting lately

just over 12' perfect for dramatic work!

BTW, they make aluminum versions for cheaper.

Don't know the quality but Rode sells a 9' boom for about $100. But personally (and this is coming from a guy who just did a painters pole conversion that is working very nicely - except for portability) I would spring for the above mentioned GB3560, if it's at all poss. If I were doing production on a regular basis I would have.
