Boom Pole and Shock mount Ebay

..its a fishing pole. not as in a "fish pole" but its an actual fishing pole.. for fishing.. with a stud mounted at the end and a cheap shockmount. IMHO if your going to spend money on a boom .. dont mak it this one.

lol.. my experience is finding out what it is and not buying one..

if your that pressed for cash just buy a cheap aluminum or fiberglass collapsable painters pole, and mount a shock mount on the end. if you want a decent boom. buy a decent boom. thats just my opinion. .. the only review ive heard of the unit was from a dvx user who said it was pretty much dookie. but hey .. its all relative. if you think it wil work for you..

Don't get me wrong, I definately value everyone's experiance here, I'm not trying to argue. I've noticed, however, that sometimes we are quick to give our answers or reviews and not give enough information for the one who asks to make the best desicion. You said another dvxuser member said it was crap, but with all this equipment, one says it's crap (ME66 for example) while another says he loves it ("they use it on the Tonight Show!") See my point, I wasn't trying to question you, I was just looking for more specifics: the pole is heavy, it doesn't collaps, it smells like fish, whatever. But I do appreciate your imput, it sound like it would be within my best interest to spend a little more for a whole lot better, thanks!

or a whole lot less for not much worse :) ..

and you have every right to question .. if i were you id want to know "why" too. i useally dont take "because" for an answer. i probably seem a little strong in my opinion because i dont like e-bay to begin with and the only review ive hear was from a dvxuser who felt pretty ripped off, and im a pretty opinionated person to begin with. but as we know.,. its all relative . you might love it .. but id hate for you to be the second preson i know to feel ripped off :)

If loser said it's a fishing pole then it probably does smell like fish....
Just kidding. i don't have any knowledge of the item. I have used this one. It's aluminum instead of carbon fiber so it's not light. I wouldn't recommend it for extremely long shoots. Your audio guy will want to kill you. It's a good budget pole. The K102FTS is sweet (carbon fiber=light) but expensive. you can find it on b&H as well.

Don't buy it-- If you want to go the fishing pole route, I bought a 20' "Wonderpole" by Shakespeare for 19.99$. It's collapsable and I removed one of the sections so its about 15' long and pretty sturdy. I improvised a shock mount screw at the end using a rubber plug. Presto. It looks somewhat professional (no mention of "fishing" on it and it says "shakespeare," which sounds entertainment related.) Unless you are a fishing person, it looks like real equipment. And you can always gaff over the logos.

Heh, it looks like I could sell it on eBay for $120!
