bookshelf speakers

Are you talking critical monitoring for editing or just general listening? Either way at $30, those speakers are probably crap. The specs they give you on consumer products are meaningless.

I did not state that well. The specs that are provided, like the ones in your link, don't really tell you anything important to crucial listening. Things like the frequency response of 55Hz-20kHz does not mean anything unless there is a plus/minus variable. My clock alarm radio goes from 55Hz-20kHz, just not very accurately. Professional speakers will give you an actual frequency graph of your speaker. You want one as flat as possible.

In the last 6 months there was a thread on cheap monitors. A search should find it.

Or just take my advice and go to Ebay and get NS10s.

The golden rule of audio... If it sounds good on an NS10, it will sound good anywhere.
