Books on being a Film Producer

[devilry]

Hi,

I'm searching around for some of the best books on understanding the role of a Film Producer. There's tons of them out there, but I'm trying to find the best of the best.

If you don't mind sharing some of the books you've read that were extremely helpful in your film-making career. That would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I always loved Christine Vachon's books on producing. She described producing best I think when she said it was doing everything no one else wanted to do.

Maybe not what you need: Produce Your Own Damn Movie by Lloyd Kaufman, but I liked Direct Your Own Damn Movie (even the faul language and sick jokes in it). I also liked Make Your Own Damn Movie.

I have always like Gregory Goodell's book, "Independent Feature Film Production" It takes you through the whole filmmaking process.

Thank you for the suggestions. I just ordered both books for my 15yo budding filmmaker...
