Boogeyman

has anybody seen the BOOGEYMAN? I was frightened in the first 10 min.-s, but then I nearly felt asleep.

Are you obsessed with Boogeyman or something? This is 4th time I see you asking same question :lipsrseal

I rented this and turned it off after :45 minutes. Horrible. Not at all scary, zero story. Just bad stuff. Encouraging in a "I could do something that lame" way though.

The scary thing is that they spent 20 million on it and it still did 60 Million worldwide.

It sucked hard.

I heard it was made for only 10 mill.

Trick was they played the previews for it before The Grudge, which a bunch of horror fans saw. Boogeyman was made by the same production company(Sam Raimi's). So these same horror fans thought it looked good enough to check it out. It had an impressive first weekend - They(the studios) knew it was a royal piece of ****, so they didn't preview it to any critics before the release date because they knew it would hurt the opening weekend figures which they were depending on.

Note to self: if the studios won't show the movie to critics before opening weekend, it's cuz they have something to hide. (I remember The Avengers did the same thing, thought the star appeal would get them great opening weekend figures, so they refused to show how bad it was before the opening weekend).

I tried watching it today, when it was on TV, but I just kept switching channels - it was that freakin boring. All in all, I watched maybe 5 min total and that time would've been better spent doing something else.

hey, what kind of channel do you have? I just saw it 2 weeks ago in the cinema... in Hungary it will be about 1.5 years later on TV on HBO which publishes films first on TV...???

Sattelite, NTV+

They have 4 movie channels. One - strictly MGM films, that are mostly crap. Other two - all sorts of movies from different years, mostly decent, a lot of blockbusters and classics. And last one is only for movies released in the past two years, 1 new movie every day; of course, mostly crap, but also stuff like Alexander, Aviator, King Arthur... Sahara is coming up this week.

Its odd... boogyman scared the living **** out of me so much so that I had to actually stop watching it to take a break.. I dunno, maybe i have an issue with hoogie boogies living under my bed or something.

Haha

I'm pretty hard to scare unfortunately. In fact; I'm trying to think of the last flm that literally scared or freaked me out and I can't.

The boogeyman was probably one of the worst movies I saw in theaters. My friends wanted to see it but I said it would suck. They convinced me to see it but I made them pay. It was a piece of ****, and the boogeyman died after the guy broke an action figure!?

I was more startled than scared. Can't think of when I was actually scared last.

It was a nice change from all the yeah, yeah, oh look blood and guts, yawn stuff I've seen lately.

Disclaimer: I also liked Jeepers Creepers...mostly.

I watched it with one of my friends, and he was extremely scared. he was freezing, and he asked me to tell, when it is gonna be frightening. so I was always saying: "hey, don't get frightened!", and "hey that is only a film!"

Are you serious? I stopped watching after 45 Minutes. Are you kidding me? That's the death of the Boogeyman?

yes! it is the most retarded ending I ever saw. He either is an action figure or it was like a metaphorical thing where the action figure represented a toy. Either way, it's dumb.

I have to fess up to some bad taste here. I (checking to see if anyone is looking) liked it ...well sort of anyway. I thought it was almost good.(I may be experiencing my second childhood). It really shows off my lack of culture when I can enjoy a flick like that and yet not care for Sideways or Napolean Dynamite. (this message will self destruct in 15 seconds).

I didn't think the story was that great but I liked the look of the film. I have the dvd with the alternate ending and I like the ending they chose the best.

I liked it much better than Citizen Kane which really tells you I don't know anything. I am looking forward to the new Romero movie"Land of the Zombies" I'm quite sure Jared was just being sarcastic since I don't believe anything short of a Super Volcano would "scare the **** out of him".

Thinking about it.... my kids have caused me to have this terrible problem with my viewing choices. They have all seven seasons of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" on dvd as well as "Angel" "Miracles" "Wonder Falls". After putting up with the week long marathon it took for them to go thru all the episodes Boogeyman was a welcome relief.

Anyhow heres to the movies good and bad fact & fiction narrative or documentary. Now where did I put that copy of "Van Helsing"........................
