Bolt

Surprised nobody has started a topic about this fun little film. It has some great Hollywood jokes in it and a good balance of action and comedy. There's even a few laugh out loud moments. Sure the story isn't anything new (a dog trying to find his "person") but placing it in a Truman Show type world makes it kind of interesting.

Probably one of the better cartoons to be released in the past few years. Go see it!

Saw it with my daughter in Disney 3D. The 3D was just about perfect and the film definitely better than I expected. Not a classic like one of Pixar's films, but somewhere about the level of say Bee Movie, or Kung-Fu Panda.

Saw it last night - much, much better than I was expecting.
John Lasseter may yet bring Disney back from the doldrums of mediocrity!

I was wondering if it was only going to be aimed at little kids (as the trailers imply), but it's hilarious for everyone!

It wasn't as intelligent as a Pixar movie by any stretch, but it's a solid 7/10. Toy Story meets Homeward Bound with funny side characters (I loved the pigeons) basically.

I did like the more subtle use of 3-D in the movie though than the pure "wow" effect I've seen before (like the Muppet's show @ Disney for example). Starting to see why James Cameron likes it so much.

Saw this a couple nights ago in Digital 3-D.

Awesome film... well paced, well written, humor was good, animation was good... made me nearly cry a few times... :) Really well done film! Disney is getting better!

I guess this thread isn't too old to revive it... but I just watched the trailer for AstroBoy... and I'll bet I'm not the only one who saw Bolt and thought the better movie would have been one about the fictitious dog, instead of a BTS about (what I thought) a far less interesting story.

They could have still had the gerbil in the ball as an unchanged character... regardless of the plot line... but anyway... I wonder if anybody else will realize that AstroBoy is the character Bolt... in human boy form.
