Bogen Tripods - Advice on Models Please!

Like many of us - I have very little "fundage" (deniro, cabbage, lettuce, bones, etc). I am purchasing the Bogen 501 head this weekend, and the same photo shop has several tripods on sale from $150-$300.

These are the two I am considering and I wondered if anyone out there can tell me if THEY'VE used either of these and what they thought of them.

Bogen 3021BN Rapid Column Tripod (or)
Bogen 3021 Pro Quick Center Tripod.

I look forward to your comments. I sort of need to get one real quick. The one I was borrowing walked off somewhere :o

Yeah folks, let's hear some comments. I'm in the market for a tripod and have been considering these too.

;D I went on and bought the 3021N anyway. Couldn't wait - needed one before this last weekend. As I show up for the shoot, some other shooters came over and setup near where I was. I look down and two of them were using the same tripod! One of them had the 3021BN (the black one) with a spreader and it was all beat up.

I asked the one guy how long he had his 3021N and he said for over a year and it looked no worse than my brand new one.

Great tripod! Bought it at a local Ritz Camera for $150. Very happy with it so far.

One other thing, there seems to be some Bogen 501 bashing around here ( :-[ maybe bashing is too strong), let's say downplay. I bought the 501 and I really, really like it. I've never used the 503 or 506, but this head is really smooth. Good for the $$ too!

I would also appreciate a comparison between the 501 and 503 because the price difference is quite large, but when I tried the 501 in a store, I was pretty impressed (then again, I've been using $80 all in on tripods).
