Bogen 503/525 and the DVX100

Hey Guys,
 
  So today fedex dropped off my dvx100 and bogen 503/525 tripod.  Gotta say thanks to the advice on this site I am very happy that i went with the 503/525.  
 
One question however.  The mounting plate that comes with bogen head will not fit the bottom of my dvx100 that I have.   I only ask because one of the holes on the bottom of my camera doesn' t even have threads in it.Is there another piece of the puzzle I should be buying? Or do I have to take the camera and mount to a shop and have them tap the threads to make them larger.
 
Any insight would be helpful.  Thanks alot.

Hey congrats!

There are 2 holes on your DVX, one is threaded and one isnt, you put the little post on the plate in the non threaded hole then screw in bolt to the other part. IF the screw in the QR plate is too big for the threads, take it out and put the smaller one that is screwed in your head in it.

Man did that even make sense?

where did you buy it? Is there a PAnasonic dealer in Sask?

Thanks Jared. I think I'm just really "green" right now and can't figure it out. I'll give it another go.

I bought both from EVS Online. Came in today as well as the Cinitactics mattebox, zoom control and my G5 was in yesterday. Can't wait to get started. I'll keep trying with this problem. I'm sure I can figure it out eventually. lata

Oh man . .I SEE WHAT YOU MEAN . .I didn't even see the rubber piece that came out of the plate . .that was pretty stupid. LOL. Okay I think I got'er . Thanx dude.

dont feel bad.. I remember having the same problem, kinda scratched my head but luckily a previous experience helped me figure it out.
