The 3066 is serious overkill for a camera as tiny as a DVX100. It's a great head, we had 2 of 'em at Westwood, but they're more suitable for heavy film cameras or heavier BetaSP-type cameras.
Jubal28, What you talking about Willis ??? Please run that by me again. Because I never get a "new" tag I just start in the new topic and put in my heading . Are you saying everybody else is seeing the new tag on my posting? 8)
That's what I'm saying, yes. After you post it, you see it posted, and that's a "viewing," as far as your cookies are concerned, so it's never "new" to you.
elvis, i have the 3066 and this head is a monster! the bogen 516 replaced the 3066. as barry says, it is a bit overkill for the dvx. i use it only when i attach my cobracrane on it or if i have a 2 camera shoot. my other head is the 3063.
Does the 3066 or 516 have springs in the head to return the camera to a horizontal position or to counterbalance it? That would have helped me on a recent motorcycle shoot...
