Terry Adams, Darren Craddock and Mickey Gaidos ride flatland in Hammond, LA.

I decided to shoot some riding with my iphone and use the footage to mess around with in FCPX.
This was just for fun to learn the software in my spare time.

I have to say for an edit like this FCPX was a joy to use. Took the footage from my iPhone and just started cutting, Everything just worked.
However due to the growing list of missing features I still have to return to FCP7 for many of my jobs.
FCPX is nice to look at and for me makes going back to FCP7 nausea-inducing

PLEASE APPLE GET THIS SOFTWARE UP TO PAR!!

i really like what you did with the end credits, good use of the filters/effects/transitions and timing with the beat there

impressive biking skills

Sick riding. I can watch this stuff for hours. I used to ride when I was a kid. It's amazing to see the progression that has happened. Back then, what you guys were doing in this video would have landed you crazy sponsorships and you'd be on tour for GT and in all the BMX magazines....

You're right about FCP7 for the more serious jobs but I think you've nailed FCPX's forte, iPhone videos for fun.

Hi Guys thanks for the compliments on this quick edit.

Its cool your into BMX, I've been riding for over 15yrs now. Funny you mentioned sponsorships because Terry is one of Redbull's top flatland athletes amongst his many other sponsors. But yea this level of riding just 5 or so years ago would have been unheard of.

if you're digging this video check out this trailer I did for my full length (52mins) documentary with Terry about BMX/Flatland and his life as one of the sports top athletes.

Back to FCPX, I didn't mean FCPX should or will be only limited to fun little iphone edits although it worked really well for this edit.
I think there is some serious tech running FCPX and its capable of things FCP7 (much less imovie) could only dream of, however we all know whats lacking and for many people those features will be a deal-breaker. But for many others I suspect we will begin to see some amazing work being done with FCPX.

Again thanks for the feedback on this edit
