Features: BMDC with genlock for 3D!?

Hi, this is my first post here, so hello to everyone!

I was wondering how difficult it would be for BMD to implement genlock or some kind of sensor/camera feature sync (like Red Epic/Scarlet) for 3D work?

Since Resolve already is 3D capable, I think this little camera would be perfect for stereoscopic workflow.

Would anybody else on here be interested in this feature?

There doesn't appear to be any external sync on the camera. Doesn't look like there's any external timecode, either. Kind of a bummer.

They have talked about doing external TC by detecting it on the audio port.

They have suggested Thurnderbolt would work for the 3D and genlocking.

Hi John. Will you be posting any more samples? I already pre-ordered the camera. It would be nice to get more of a feel of what it can do.

Interocular would be whatever you wanted - if you used a mirror rig. Which this cam would be great for.

thanks, I already knew that, maybe others dont, though. But I really don't want to get that fancy. Does anyone agree with me, that the market for Indie 3d - perhaps all 3d, is moving very slowly?

It should sync for 3D via LANC, it 'should' be as useable as LANC sync of two generic camcorders. I haven't done this but have seen quite good results

Thanks John! That is what I wanted to hear :) Any idea how that would work? Since there is only one thunderbolt port on each camera you'd need a device (perhaps a new BM Thunderbolt Genlock Sync Generator) to sync both cameras. Another option would be a new Ultra Studio 3D with multiple Thunderbolt ports that would take care of Sync as well as Stereo Monitoring. And one last option that comes to mind is a single Thunderbolt connection between the two cameras and 3D settings onboard the cameras.

Would any of these be possible to implement by the arrival of the camera or is it for the future upgrades only?
