I have heard about a netted material that you put behind the subject to emulate blurring in tight quarters and such. Does anyone know what thsi is and where you get it? Does it work? Any help would be awesome. Thanks, Brian

It's called Softsreen or Soft Screen and you should be able to get it at
http://indie toolbox.com
but I can't get their site up for some reason.

But one of teh Barr Green, that wrote the DVX book/DVD invented it and he's a Ninja, so you know it's good.

Search for a thread for softscreen or soft screen, if that don't work PM Barry.

Also -- get the DVX book /DVD, there are tons of footage examples on the DVD, inlcuding a look at soft screen. But that's the least of the many reasons to get it.

I think it's about 500, but worth it. I just started looking for one again today.

Good luck!

woops!

Meant to write one of the Barries since I get them mixed up. But then I looked up that it was Barry Green, and somehow my brain stopped functioning between that point and the time I hit send.

lol

God I hope the Barries don't read this now that it's been bumped - they are so distinct in my noggin after Zombie fest :) Can't believe I ever got them confused.

Much cheaper to just buy a roll of 1/8 Hampshire Frost that will soften your background. Hang it from a c-stand behind your head shot.
