Heya guys I found this old thread [ http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=85829&page=18 ] while searching the net for affoardable lighting rigs.

Anyway the Blueline lights seem to be getting positive reviews and great comparison to arri lights for less money, especially when looking at the kits at imagewest.tv [ http://imagewest.tv/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=65 ]

However after looking closely at the deals that they are offering, imagewest.tv seem to be selling one arri like light with 2 of there 800 watt open face Fresnel with softbox. I am worried about the 800 watt lights since no one seems to commenting on them. Has any one had any experience with these lights, they seem to be a great value. But I am worried about the 800 watt lights since they are not similar in design to the Arri ones.

I am also considering going the tried and true method of real Arri lights it just seems so expensive and they really do not come with any thing. IE. stands, softbox, gel, scrims... ect

What I would like is 2 650 watts with soft boxes and maybe a 150 watt, all Fresnel... any way just was wondering if any one could point me in the right direction.

Thanks for reading this and for any help in advance.

At this time we haven't been doing pre-configured kits, just offering a lot of options including a lower cost softbox for the 650w and 1000w fresnels. Scrims coming soon as well. Seems like someone always wants to make a change or substitution over what a kit is pre-programmed with so we prefer just to work with people when they aren't sure what to get.

If you just want the blue line fresnels without the 800watt junk lights (IMHO) check ebay. They sell 3 650 or 3 1k fresnel kits on there, same people. I was going to buy some myself but decided to go with daylight balanced floros instead.
