Blue Screen or Green Screen?

I am new to this forum, so sorry if this a common topic.

What screen do you prefer and why? Is green screen used for indoor (key results) and blue screen used for outdoor (key results)? Sorry for the amateur question. Just wanted to know. Thanks!

It's of no importence actually, as long as you have them lit as evenly as possible.

Re: Blue Screen or Green Screen?

The main decision on whether to use blue or green is, is there anything blue or green in what you're shooting? If your subject's wearing a green shirt, obviously you would choose to shoot them against a blue screen, etc.

If all other things are equal, green is preferred for video work. Green gets the highest weighting in the DV color scheme, and the blue channel generates the most noise in the image, so using green can result in *slightly* better keys. But blue's just about as good.

Re: Blue Screen or Green Screen?

Right now I have panels of bright green paper covering my apartment wall. Visitors either think I'm an aspiring weatherman or I've gone insane. :-) Thanks for the responses.
