blue ray mpeg2 export has mice teeth

looks like a bit of interlacing going on....will this go away on blue ray, or is there a progressive field setting somewhere?

Is your source progressive or interlaced? And do you plan to play this video on computers or TV? If it's destined for television, then interlaced video is common and the Blu-Ray player will know exactly what to do with it. If it's destined for computer playback, then you may have a problem.

But you've given nearly no details for anyone to even begin to help you.

yes, it's 60i and going to blue ray, for tv...computer playback show's interlacing/mice teeth and wasn't sure if blue ray knew how to handle it....figured best to check before i burn an expensive disc.

thanks!

So you are playing interlaced MPEG-2 on a computer? Get a player/codec that is capable of deinterlacing.

Why do you export in MPEG-2 instead of AVC? With AVC you can have lower bitrate with the same quality, and you can make a complaint AVCHD disk on DVD media and check it on your Blu-ray player.

dunno, im passing the project off to the dude i'm working for....how expensive are blue ray discs?? 20 bucks....i dunno

oh, i'm not the one doing the burning...the guy i'm working for told me they were pricey. 2.50 isn't pricey...unless he's really really poor.
