I'm getting ready to author- well make that is my short on dvd with dvd studio pro and wonder if Blue Disc would work. My project rendered at 8 bit uncompressed is just under 8 gigs. 7.85 er close to it. Why shouldnt/cant I burn to a blue disc? Well yes I'm not talking HD but regular 48kz ntsc. For shorts I'd love to put my stuff on blue disc. Compression is such a bummer after seein it look so good on tape.

thanks

What's Blue Disc? Did you mean Blu-Ray? No it is not for standard definition. You want Dual-Layer DVD-R. Or reduce the data rate to fit into a single layer DVD-R (4.2 GB or less total disc capacity) if you don't have a dual-layer burner. At good quality you should be able to fit up to 90 minutes or so onto a single layer DVD-R. Sorry but MPEG-2 compression is the name of the game, no DVD player can play 8-bit uncompressed video.
