Just seen the new LG Blu-ray external burner which writes 6 speed and is much better priced.

Can we make blu-ray dvds from FCP/Compressor/dvdstudio -> Blu-ray, or is it not yet supported?

I have a wedding next onth and they want it on blu-ray.

Thanks

OK I can now answer this one myself. After researching there is now way to make a blu-ray dvd on a mac at the moment.

Yes true. I went to Video Forum in London on Thursday and they had a one hour lesson . Burning blu-ray with encore CS3.

Very easy. Export either directly from Premier, or import the files into Encore, put in chapter markers, menues etc, then out to blu-ray or blu-ray folder.

I just purchased one of those new LG Blue Ray burners.

It is only PC based. So if you edit in FCP, you need to bring your footage into encore then transfer over to a PC ( and if it is running Vista good luck with the networking!!!!!! I am having to use an extrnal portable HD to transfer between the two) then burn the blu-ray dvd.

I have done this successfully now, and burned the blu-ray image onto aSD DVD, which will play on the PC using Nero Showtime or Power DVD ( blu-ray version)

I am after a cheap PS3 now to show off the footage on my plasma. But it look like I have cracked it.

By the way I hear that Sony will announce an update for Architect at NAB for blu-ray, which will make the process easy for editors who use Vegas.
