Blood Q for tomorow

USLatin

Panamaniac
I am making blood and have a few Q, hope it is the right section...

1 - what recipe to use for 1/2 day old blood, bodies have been out since the night before, and now the sun is coming up

2 - will it wash off completely? need to use same shirt for a pick up

3 - need lots of it... two men bleed to death (sorta, they died from the wound technically but this wound would cause for loooots of their blood to be spewed out)

4 - ewwwww...

Thanks in advance guys!

I guess you could just use stage blood (Ben Nye is the best I've heard) and mix a touch of brown to make it look more "desaturated" like it's been drying up in the sun... Downside is, is that it's really expensive, so I don't know how much of it you would be willing to pay for.

A 200 pound male contains about 6 quarts of blood - and that's a person who's been bled dry. Don't get carried away.

I was sooo gonna get carried away.. heheh... but we ended up using a mix of honey syrup and red colorant mixed by our prop/FX/other stuff guy...

Yes, clothing has been stained... we'll see if it comes off... :(

I look quite dead... heheh... do you guys want to see a frame?

ok... we had a bad time constraint but we manged this

but you know what's hilarious? I cut my wrist with a class this afternoon... 25 stitches... so needles to sat I saw buckets of the real thing today... bad news is that when we got back from the Hospital only like 5hs after the blood was much darker and completely dry... an effective reminder of how miserably we failed at making it realistic... :)
