Blocky Pixilated Noisy

I am trying desperately to create great looking dvds from my hvx footage.

I think i am using the wrong settings. Because their not coming out clean. They look blocky in the shadow areas and noisy

Here is my workflow. I export from final cut to compressor to dvd studio pro. What can i possibly doing wrong to cause these problems?
 
Ah might help with a bit more info....

What did you shoot with on the HVX (720 or 1080)?

What did you edit with in FCP (did you stick with the native timeline or did you change some aspect)?

What settings are you using in compressor?

Have you tried using compression markers at all around any of the most troublesome areas?

Also, if you can find the link/thread, BenB recently did a posting about a new compressor book that is coming out (or is already out?). You might want to investigate that and consider having it around for reference.
