Hey check this out; http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20061205-8360.html

I just called my local blockbuster and they said it is true and according to them there is no limit just one rental per netflix flap thing (im not sure if its the part you tear off or the envelope) but Im going to take both and find out.. will report later.. if it's the envelope you just have to send two discs in one envelope when you return it to netflix...

we dont need a blockbuster is the devil argument.. they are giving away free stuff.. need I say more?

Isn't that what the devil does - give you something you shouldn't necessarily have in exchange for your SOUL (or, in this case, a few DVD rentals)?

Your right-to-think-your-own-thoughts-because-nobody-is-going-to-tell-you-what-you-can-watch-soul?

Is that the kind of discussion you meant?

That symbol means: Blockbuster is SATAN!!!

do you know if you stand up you could save loads of money, i doubt you're are gonna be like "no thanks I'm so rich I think I'm going to keep my seat"

Blockbuster is the devil. The problem is, so is Netflix. They're both the devil. Devil-stores I tell you!

There was a discussion about this awhile back, but Netflix purposefully puts you on the bottom of the list if you rent a lot of DVDs so that THEY control the maximum amount of movies you rent a month (not you, like you're led to believe). But Blockbuster is even worse. Then again, with the all-access unlimited pass, you neutralize their devil grip on you, in essence allowing you to control the devil. So I guess all's good.

If Blockbuster is the devil, late fees are the fiery flames of Hell.

At least with Netflix, there are no late fees.

That said, thanks for the tip. I will gladly take free stuff from Blockbuster. ;)

Netflix is the lesser of the two evils. Oh, and they're the market inventor - not an archaic bricks-and-mortar (remember Walmart's ill-conceived, sad, yet still Satanic grab at DVD subscriptions?) thug who's playing catch-up by offering things Netflix did from the beginning.

Netflix laid waste to Wal*Mart in a matter of short months, but I recall a time, not so long ago, when they threatened - in a very funny (if you live in Nebraska and buy guns, baby formula and cereal at the same store) kind of way - to destroy Netflix. What happened there?

Sorry to turn this into something like this, but Blockbuster is so... I don't know. Gross.

Hold on... I'll get my truck and we can start delivering DVDs directly to people at home with friendly, personal service.

ha ha...I walked out of blockbuster with 14 dvds today....all for free. I have the 8 out at a time, plus I have bb online and two free coupons ;)

The girl at the counter was like...so how do you like total access...I was like its ok...its def ok.

Thing I realized today though is...I gotta keep netflix, even though they throttle my acct like crazy. Either way, their selection is still far superior to blockbuster, especially in the store.

We used to have two little mom and pop video stores in town.

Blockbuster came in, low-balled their prices until they drove both shops out of town. One month later, surprise surpise, Blockbuster raised it's prices.

I loathe Blockbuster.

all the more reason to get free stuff from them. I dont shop at Walmart, but if they had a promo where for each plastic whole foods bag you bring in they will GIVE you $4, I will be there with a stack of old bags!!

There's no limit to how many DVDs you can take out? See, I've been throwing all my Netflix red enevlope flaps into bags of paper that I'm saving for a paper mache art project (a HUGE project, so I'll be using a lot of paper). I've probably got a couple hundred of those envelope flaps. I quit Blockbuster years ago because of their horrible customer service, but I'd walk out of there with 200 DVDs just to empty their store shelves!
