Blinking cineform footage

I am working on a 64 bit version of windows 7 and vegas 9. I converted my avchd video to cineform 24p progressive. I worked on a project and have recently finished. For some reason when, I go to render, some of my footage intermittently either flashes on and off or simply is black. Therefore I get black frames in the middle of my video. It seems to happen only on specific footage and not on all the footage. Any ideas here?

I'm having the exact same issues. And apparently we're not alone. Vegas 9 is just messed up and not working for many people. The hope is that 9.0d will fix these (and other) issues.

In the mean time, if you're licensed to use Vegas 8.0c (not 8.1 - it's got problems too), then use that.

Thank you Baez. From now on I'm only going to work in Hd if it is F@#$%N necessary. I find that it limits your ability to be creative because you are always thinking of the consequences of your workflow. No matter how powerful your system is you are constantly wondering whether you are going to be able to see an OK rendition of your footage, effects, and modifications. This is profoundly not cool. believe it or not, I'm going back to SD as soon as possible. By the way. Any suggestions on a great small size Sd camera that records to hard drive and gives excellent quality. I love quality for low price. Just want to hear what your love affairs are.

Ha! That's kinda funny. I was just thinking the opposite. In fact I was working on rebuilding a Vegas 9 64-bit environment to give it another try.

Anyway as far as SD vs HD, if you're really dead-set on it, I'd go ahead and shoot in HD, but edit/deliver in SD, and here's the tool I'd use to do it:

Anyway, keep your HD camera, and then use GearShift to make SD "proxies" out of your HD footage. Edit away! Then when you feel like giving HD another shot, you haven't lost anything.

Consumers force the manufacturers to make their stuff better. If you bail ship, that's one less voice clammering for better stuff!

Stay warm up there!
