Hi Guys,
I'm trying to blend Daniel's (http://jetsetmodels.info/tutorials.htm) vibrating GG design with Justin's (http://snodart.com/hbe_snod35_v1.php), and I'm running into a few design problems.
First of all, I have a DVX100a and would like to build my adapter for Canon FD lenses. I already have the Canon Ee-a focus screen and the Century Optics +7 Achromatic Diopter. My first concern is that I would need more powerful macro magnification to magnify the focus screen. I'm thinking about buying the 72mm Canon 500D +2 macro to achieve this.
I'd like to use 2 Asian Spacer Rings 58mm" in diameter and 1.5" in length.
The way I would attach my Canon FD mount to the Asian Spacer Ring body would be to bolt the FD mount to a 58mm metal lens cap, which would then screw onto the 58mm Spacer Ring body. Although I am wondering whether the FD mount would be too large in diameter to bolt onto a 58mm metal lens cap. What do you think?
So, in terms of order of parts from the DVX: 72mm DVX threads > 72mm to 58mm step-down ring > 58mm CO +7 Achromatic Diopter > 58mm Asian Spacer ring (vibrating GG inside) > 58mm Asian Spacer ring > 58mm general brand metal lens cap > Canon FD mount > Canon FD lens.
In terms of the vibrating GG, I could make a GG holder that fits snugly into the 58mm Asian Spacer Ring body. Or do you think I would need the GG holder to be inside a self-contained unit, such as an empty (glass removed) housing from a cheap 58mm +10 maco lens?
Do you think this design would work? Any feedback would be great.
Thank you very much!
Mike
