Bleeding black shadows?

I don't have a roof on my set. I wish I did but im on a tight time frame and don't have time to change much.

I have seen before that the roof is black and the black bleeds down the sides of the walls and is emphasized in the corners.

Does anybody have any suggestions how to achieve this, if you understand what im saying?

OH YEAH;

Im trying to create a film noir look, any suggestions for that awell?

Do you really need a roof? Can't you just deny that part of your set any light with proper cutting of your sources?

"black bleeding downwards almost like an omniscent force"

Is that a euphemisim for a shadow?
