The Blackmagic decklink card, I'm not sure I fully understand, I use the Matrox at mo, but with this, would it bring it into premere uncompressed, and would this then mean it was allot higher quality, wouldn't ahve the comression it has through firewire

I do not believe. The decklink card is for bringing in a component or SDI signal such as from a Beta, Digibeta deck or such.
The "DV" signal is already compressed as it's recorded to tape so firewire is the best you'll get from the camera or DV tape.

Excuse me for asking a dumb question, What is the Blackmagic decklink card used for ? is it only video output ?
