ha ha ha ....and while the big boys were sitting on their greedy fingers ! It's moments like this that make living worthwhile . And as a sidenote, you can bet your bottom dollar they're all watching ...even Red ! Blackmagic just stole NAB !

Maybe this is why Panasonic didn't announce a new AF100!:)
 
My Sigma EX 10-20mm F3.5 and Sigma EX 20mm F1.8 just became a whole lot more appealing! :)

I wonder if there would be slow-mo options if we shoot at lower resolutions?
 
That wailing sound you hear are the people at DigitalBolex, RED, Panasonic, Canon, ARRI, etc...

So, explain the sensor size in relation to a Super-35 or M4/3 size sensor.

Yeah, the sensor size is the only sobering factor here so far, but I think I can look past it. I already have my 16-35L and a 24L that should give a very nice standard field of view. Not bad, not bad at all.
 
Without being a 5D-DoF fanboy: Where will this baby land considering Dof? Similar to the GH2/AF100, right?

Exiting times.

It's slightly larger than S16, and slightly smaller than m4/3.

Yeah, it will be similar to AF100 DOF, but not quite as shallow at the same settings. A negligible amount, most likely.
 
Well crop wise you need a much wider lens to get even the same FOV as m4/3 which will be a problem for many. BUT for those who see all the other benefits...it'll be worth it.
 
Also, I can't help but feel that this is going to be so successful, that perhaps sooner or later, Blackmagic will bring a Super35mm version...for $6K!
 
****!! How to order this camera now? I can't find it anywhere...even the "Last" button on this thread becoming a bit tricky now as this thread is just keep getting updated.
