Other: BlackMagic Cinema camera!!!! 2.5k for 3k...

Competition is good. I am sure Canon guys are listening to all the feedback (and rantings). Hope BMD can quickly bring this product to market in good numbers. We are living in good times.

+1 for some info about sensor size - it says it takes EF and ZF lenses, and there are not so many options with 13 stops of DR around... please please please please let this be the sony 16mpix aps-c sensor...

WOW! I really hope this camera is what it says it is. For that price, I'll take 2!

Same here, Christopher. But only if with genlock. If not, at least for one unit the decision is already made.

EDIT -- Amazing small size as form factor! For a cinema camera... it is revolutionary to say the least ;-)

I love Canon honestly but it's pretty safe to say that they're toast now officially in the DSLR low-budget indie community. I can't even imagine how many of these they're going to sell if they deliver.

My mind is really blown here. I'm finding myself more excited about this camera in the last 30 minutes then any DSLR, even RED. The only thing that could wow me at this point is a mini-ALEXA that's affordable. Blackmagic is listening...

Also in regard to form-factor, they basically made a DSLR lol.

Wow, I think this has suddenly made the Digital Bolex much less appealing. This is a known company with the resources to support a product that has more features.

Some people may be annoyed that the frame rate only goes to 30P, but that doesn't bother me. I wish the file system on the drive wasn't Macintosh, but that is easily dealt with.

Can somebody translate the sensor size spec into a size I understand please? Like APS-C.

- Sensor Size16.64 mm x 14.04 mm
- Sensor Size - Active15.6 mm x 8.8 mm

BMD, company of the decade. Pioneers of bringing down the price of professional video tools. First with their decklink cards, then bascially giving Davinci away. Thank god they have entered the camera games.
