Other: BlackMagic Cinema camera!!!! 2.5k for 3k...

Black magic should clearly think about a way to put M43 lens on this camera, because it is the only lens mount that is close to it and with the growing popularity of the format, getting some nice lens. The Nikon and Canon lens would not have anything practical at certain focal length.

It appears they've really favoured DR, instead of focusing on low light performance. Smart move. What's really going to make this popular, is it isn't just a raw camera. Going straight to ProRes or uncompressed with metadata, is going to make it useable for fast turn arounds.

I was wondering about m4/3 lenses, but the mount adapter would have to be smart, as nearly all ( with a few exceptions ) m4/3 lenses don't have an aperture ring.

I wonder how long it'll take the other Camera makers to rally their troops on the forums to try and take a bit of the sting out of this announcement for them?

I think everyone is jumping the gun, fretting about the Lens mounts.... They stated there will be EF and ZF ELECTRONIC mounts. They may well have plenty of dumb mounts lined up, including PL.

The site is dead, so I can't double check that... But i'm certain it stated they were the electronic mount options available that could be controlled by the camera.

Nope, it shouldn't cover this. It's actually closer to Af100 than I realized. Larger than S16 as well. Guess it won't be that much of a difference afterall.

Good info, thanks. I'm sure everyone else will appreciate it too. Looks like it will continue to sit in the corner, lol.

Already covered, the sensor on that chart is sized to the camera's 'active' 15.6mm x 8.8mm :D

That is very nice then, about m43 size still very good for low dof. They should definitely find a way to put m43 lens on this camera. Only way to get some fast wides and some zoom that have any meaningful range.

I wouldn't be surprised if the problem was that they didn't have access to the micro4/3 electrical specs/protocol to control the aperture on the lens. I know Birger tried to get it, and couldn't.

Man these glass companies are stupid.

BTW, I own the Nikon version of this lens (I bought this by accident actually, lucky for me (now)). Nikon 10mm F1.8, C-Mount....drool....I can't wait to try it out! :)

It's probably unlikely to cover it. Unles there is a crop mode for 16mm lenses, which would just be ridiculous lol

GH2 is slightly larger than Af100, but negligible. The difference will be a tad noticable on the wide end, but nothing major.

The M4/3 mount thing is gonna be tricky, like Erich pointed out. You'd basically only be getting the dumb versions of lenses, Hyperprime 12/1.6, Voigtlander, Samyang etc.
