Blackberrys?

So I am thinking about getting a blackberry. I have been looking at the 8103e model because with my work discount I can get it for like $50 (with a new 2 year contract).

So has anyone used it? Experiences? Positive? Negative? Just opinions in general?

EDIT: check that, it is the 8703e

My mom has one she gets from her work and she loves it. I have played around with it and it's pretty cool. If you can get it for $50 I would say go for it. Internet browsing is a little iffy (pages display strangely) but the email it great.

I will confess that I secretly hope that some day Blackberries will be discovered as a cause of non-metastasizing thumb cancer.

I guess it's not a secret, any more.

My work used to pass these things out. I had various versions of them for about 5 years. Handy little device, but for my company it was a great way to stay in contact with their mgmt employees 24 hrs a day. Needless to say that when they took them up from about 80% of us in a cost cutting effort, I didn't shed a tear.

I love mine. Its great and its rightfully nicknamed "Crackberry". I can't stop looking at mine. I've ordered my second one and I'm in the process of selling my first (8300 Curve), because I now work for Telus (the Verizon equivalent in Canada) and get a really good deal on my phone plan. I can't give these things enough credit. Sure, lots of other PDA type phones give you great service, better prices...but there's nothing like a Blackberry.

Is internet browsing free or does it cost money by the minute?

I realize I can Google this but somebody probably knows the best plan or a good way around it.

No, internet browsing never works by the minute. Its usually kbs or mbs. In the States you guys are lucky with data - there are unlimited data plans for cheap. In Canada it costs an arm and a leg for a few megs of data.
