Blackberry Format?

What format/codec do I need to compress my videos for blackberry's that play video? Also what resolution, frame rate and bit-rate?

Any tips on ways to get a better image on a blackberry like having a higher resolution or software that makes really good compressions tailored for blackberrys?

Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I use MPEG streamclip. It works perfectly and you can even compress DVDs for your blackberry. And it's free.

Here's my settings. A few months ago I experimented and found my recipe for quality versus space. On a blackberry Curve these settings should look pristine and play perfectly.

16X9 settings.

4X3 settings.

Great! I am on PC and I don't think MPEG streamclip has quit the same functionality on PC but these settings are very helpul. Few questions:

1. Why upperfield..wouldn't it be proggressive?

2. Can the blackberry play a higher frame rate than 15 maybe 30? (but not 29.97 right?)

I will defintly try a few different variations including this one and see what comes out best. Thanks again!

Jockomo, that sounds like exactly what I need.

Edit: Turns out that Device central doesn't have any profiles for blackberrys since blackberry doesn't support flash lite content. I will try MPEG Streamclip on PC and hope it can handle it.

The above settings didn't work for me. I have an 8830 and the technique above produced great video, but no sound. After experimenting with MPEG Streamclip further (version 1.9.1 on the Mac), I was successful in getting great video and audio using the 3G setting in "Export to Other Formats...". Be sure to also click on the Options button in the upper right hand corner and set Image Size to "320 x 240 QVGA".

Works like a charm. Also attached in case the image above doesn't appear.
