Situation: I recently had film telecined at 24fps, dropped onto digibeta, then captured with a black magic card via final cut -- at which point I was handed a hard drive with 28gigs worth of 18minutes of digibeta footage in an uncompressed quicktime format with a supposed 3:2 pulldown in place.
The Issue: When I take the quicktime into vegas (mind you I've downloaded the black magic 4.8.1 vegas patch or whatever) it reads the footage at 29.97 intelaced with no pulldown. I know that a pulldown exists because when i take the footage into After Effects and guess a pulldown it comes up with a frame rate of 23.976. I would just dump all of the quicktime files into AE and then output an uncompressed AVI at the proper framerate, but it seems that I gain some grain in the process...
Do any of you have any idea why Vegas 6 isn't reading the quicktime pulldowns? a way around this? any suggestions? deadlines approaching.... heh.
All help is appreciated! Thanks guys
