At my school, we have a DVCPRO deck hooked up to a Black Magic capture card in our Premiere suite systems. The lecturer wasn't that good at explaining the technicalities, but from what I gathered, a Mini-DV tape is fed into the deck with an adapter, the video goes into the Black Magic via Component cables which are then converted to an analogue signal...Apparently this uncompresses the DV codec and ups the resolution...Can someone explain this in more detail?
The video quality is noticeably better than normal Mini-DV and the files sizes are around 6GB/minute.
