I've had my eye on a 22" widescreen monitor for a few months now, but I couldn't justify saving and spending $379 on a monitor. Well, as it happened the very model I wanted was on sale today for $279 (after rebates)...at Circuit City...which we don't have in Missouri anymore. Lucky for me they still have them in Nashville, where I happened to spend my turkey day this year! I set my phone's alarm for 3:45 am so I could be in a good spot in line when the doors opened at 5. I woke up at the alarm and promptly turned it off and rolled back over into dreamland. I awoke again at 8:30 convinced that I'd missed the magic monitors. I called the store at 9:30 and the guy said they had 2 left.
I got to the store at 10am and saw that they had four left (their staff were way too old to be working in computers). I got in line (six or seven people) and heard them talking about being in line since 6am waiting for the OH-SO-1337 $200 eMAChin3s SUPER COMPUTING MACHINE. Then I found out the three guys in front of me in line were there for the same monitor I was. I got nervous, and then I got the last one in stock. Nice. I was out of the store in just under a half hour. F&%k waking up early. Best Buy rules for taking the majority of the customers away from CCity. Black Friday rules. Can't wait for next year.
