Black dusts inside Pana anamorphic adapter!

Hi everybody!

The first post I send to this forum is a desperate one.
I have just bought the Pana anamorphic adapter. Sounds cool, isn't it? Yeah, not really, because I can see few black dusts inside the adapter on the lenses!
I remember reading some posts sent by owners who had the same problem but I can't find them anymore.
Can you please help a desperate newbie. Do I have to send the anamorphic adapter back? To make it clean? To burn it? To ?!?!?! it?

Well, you could try returning it but you might receive another one with dust inside.

Or, you could take it apart and blow the dust out (they have to be taken apart when doing the Chrosziel matte box modification). Not recommended if you're not comfortable with this.

Or, don't worry about it. Only under certain circumstance will the dust be visible (very small f-stop, full wide, sun reflecting off glass, etc) - which isn't a whole lot different than if you had dust on the outside of the adaptor or DVX lens.

I would definitely return it. When paying 800 $ for a lens, you should get one that is in perfect working condition.

Taking apart the lens is by no means difficult, just remember to use a screwdriver that perfectly fits, because these tiny screws are messed up easily.

Thanks a lot to both of you to have reply to my post.
I am going to take it apart and blow the dust out with caned air.
By returning it by mail I would have to spend 10 to 15 days whithout the adapter so I am going to clean it myself.

almost all of the adaptors have , or will get dust in them over time. although youll only see it if your focused very close, i realize you dont want it in there at all. its very easy to use the compressed air to blow it out. mine came with none, but had a little bit in it months later. ..go figure. anyhow its not abig deal. :)

I have just cleaned it using canned air. All the dust is gone. I will finally be able to shoot with the anamorphic adapter.
Talking about it , do you know what the 4 screws on the back of the adapter (not the 2 in the centre) are made for?
