I have just shot some footage and need to import it onto the computer through Vegas. The Footage is HD but I thought to save time I would just select the "HD to DV downconvert" on the cam and get some SD footage looking nice.
I plugged the firewire in, then turned on the cam. It popped up fine and I went into capture mode and could control the playback of the tape through the computer so no problems there. HOWEVER. although it recognizes my cam it cant see any data/footage coming through. I have all the options for viewing the footage on so t isnt turned off. I just see a black screen. Anyway, i decided to try and capture by looking at the lcd on the cam and so on. But when i pressed capture the comp would try to find some data to capture and couldnt.
I then deselected the hd to sd mode and re connected the device, but now it cannot recognise the hd option on the cam and keeps saying a dv cam has been plugged in!
Worried, as I have captured both formats before with little issue (no issue with dv)
