Black bars on youtube

Hey guys, we just posted our trailer to our new movie on youtube. I shot with a DVX100 and it looks great on tv when I burn a DVD, but when I put the trailer on youtube it has black bars on both sides of it. It not a big deal, but I was just wondering how this happens. I'm guessing it is in the way I rendered it?
