Bizzare situation with client

Let me get this straight, ( no pun) Your in your office, and the producer your working with pulls out his johnson, and starts playing with him self. And you have to come on DVX user to get advice?? Sounds to me like the problem lies with in your self. If you put up with that in order to meet famous people, or to get work, then you may deserve what comes your way. Not to mention, im guessing your giving off signals. The reason being, their still doing it. over and over. Im guessing they think you may like it or your a closet homosexual. Because if it were me. I would have knocked his teeth out the first time he pulled out his schlong any where near me, never mind rubbing one out. There's no doubt thats sexual harrassment, no matter who you work for. Sorry to sound harsh, but it's common sense as to what you should do. And your certainly not showing any.
 
Next meeting with them, wear a hidden cam and turn the whole thing into a Dateline style expo, or the next reality show.

On a serious note, sounds to me like a troll post too. Way to out there to be real.

I don't want to meet famous people, I just want to feed myself and put a roof over my head. I'm so happy you decided to judge me without ever being in my situation nor (clearly) fully understanding it. As I'm done taking **** from them, I'm not about to start taking it from you.

For those looking for a troll- I found one and it isn't me (psst, it's that guy).

I'd prefer if this weren't a sticky. I just want to put it behind me.

A couple of things to clear up:

I had actually stopped working for them for a while while awaiting payment. I live with a law student and she says that I do actually have some legal leverage that would at least help if I don't get paid even if it's not the same type of scenario as if I were an employee.

Recent Developments:
I responded to the CEO's e-mail telling him that I was talking with some friends in the industry and they were all closed off. I told him that I was happy being closed off and he has not called or e-mailed me since. I've been in touch with the producer since and he's been completely cordial. I am also told that a check has been sent off to me, so I should know in a few days if I should hire a lawyer. If the check does arrive I've also got a commitment from a client who wants steady work from me for a full 6 months, so things are looking up.

Thanks for the serious posts and as I said in the first post, I don't particularly appreciate the jokes. And I'm glad to know my experience is "way too out there to be real" but I'm afraid it is.
 
I said it was "way too out there to be real" - but trolls never stick around, and you did, so I retract that statement and apologize for doubting you. Truth is stranger than fiction I guess. My condolences.
 
To the original poster:

1) I applaud that you turned here for help. Thats a first great and important step.

2) Think hard about your mental state - are you angry at them? Or are you angry at yourself for putting up with it?

3) Come to the realization that sometimes in life it is better to cut your losses instead of chasing promises.

4) Learn to fight back.

Now learning to fight back can take many forms. You could give someone a quick swift kick in the nuts. You could crack a joke about how small his tool is and rely on humor or public ridicule. Or you could whip out your camera, film him and say ha ha you are now on youtube.

Either way you got to grow up and man up and stand up for yourself. I know that wasn't what you were expecting to hear. Growing up ain't easy and I am assuming you are young 'cos thats the only way I can understand how someone can let themselves sink this deep into a situation.
Even after two weeks without pay you are already being taken for a ride. If you let them abuse you (and they already are) by putting up with it you are asking for more.
