Bitrate playback vs battery life?

If I am playing a 2.5 minute .mp4 video that I will have set to loop on my laptop running off battery battery power, will the bitrate of the video significantly affect the battery life?
Will a 50Mbps video take more power to play than a 15Mbps video?
And should I use a different format than .mp4?
Thank you in advance :)

Yes. Your CPU/GPU/RAM/HD use will increase. Which ones depend on your system. This is extremely easy to test, just play it back with a hardware monitor going. You can then decide if it's noteworthy or not. Probably it's not a huge difference. If you're really concerned, make sure to shut down every bit of software and connectivity you can before unplugging.

That wrapper is fine.
